Northwold Little
Normans Pre-School

Our Sports Day was planned for 5th July but unfortunately it rained. However, we were not going to be beaten by the weather and the sun shone on our reserve date of 12th July. Parents, Grandparents and friends stood at the finishing line with their cameras, shouting and clapping as the children came towards them in sacks, over obstacles, with egg and spoons or just plain running with real determination on their faces. The event was a credit to the children, teachers and the helpers as everything was so organised and ran so smoothly. Even the Mums, Dads and Grandparents got into the spirit of the day and the competition to win their race was high (was that a rosette for second place Graeme!).

We will be holding our Teddy Bears picnic (weather permitting) on 18th July, with term ending on 19th July 2002. The last day of term is a special day both for the children who leave to go to their next school, and for the teachers who have often known these children for at least two

years. They have seen them develop from being toddlers to children who are anxious to learn and be more independent. We would like to wish Max, Anna, Thomas, James, Tommy, Eleanor, Sam, Billie and Bethany every happiness in their new school and look forward to welcoming a number of new children to the pre-school in the Autumn.

We wish you all a lovely summer and remind you that our new term will be Tuesday 3rd September to Friday 20th December with half term being 21st to 25th October. If you are planning to send your child to the pre-school in the academic year 2002/2003 please ensure that they are registered as soon as possible in order to secure a place. We are already planning fund raising events for the autumn including our annual dance and a First Aid demonstration and hope to give you more information on these in next months newsletter.
