Editor's notes…
Firstly (before I forget), everyone in the Village Life "team" would like to wish all our readers, contributors and helpers a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
This is now the 11th Issue that Michael and I have produced - eleven months ago I wasn't expecting to last more than a few months. I can honestly say that whilst the 20th of each month seems to come around even quicker each time, it has been enjoyable, thanks in no small way to the brilliant team of contributors and helpers, and the very positive encouragement we receive from villagers.
Unfortunately our long-standing Advertising Manager and Secretary, Chris Darlow has decided to step down from both positions. Chris has, over the years, worked tirelessly for Village Life, with little credit and we wish her well for the future and say a very big THANK YOU!
Chris will continue to deliver Village Life in Church Lane, and has also very kindly offered to continue helping us with the monthly task of folding 1,500 sheets of A3 paper to produce 500 copies of Village Life!
Thankfully, Pam Eyles has very kindly offered to assist with the advertising - Pam will therefore be dealing with any classified adverts, her contact details are shown in the panel to the left.

If anyone out there has a few hours to spare each month, then we could still do with someone to deal with the regular commercial adverts. Advertisers are now invoiced annually, so we need someone to take responsibility for sending invoices, chasing payments(!), gathering changes to adverts and maintaining our every-growing waiting list. If you want to give it a try then please contact any of the Village Life team.
As you picked up Village Life, you probably noticed an un-expected strain on the arm muscles...Yes, it's a "Bumper Christmas Edition" (otherwise known as Michael and myself not wanting to spend 25th December producing January's issue so we've rolled Dec and Jan together).
Well, that's about it from the editor for 2002.

P.S. Just a few notes on what makes our jobs easier in producing Village Life:

• Keep articles down to less than 500 words (this editorial is 426 words) - we're more likely to find space for ones that can fit in a half-page.
  
• If possible, provide your copy by email or floppy disk (but check it gets to us).
  
• If you don't have access to a computer then by all means provide clearly written copy.
  
• don't forget to include your name and contact details should we have any queries.
