Security systems
Trading Standards have issued a warning about companies who are operating throughout Norfolk who are targeting the oldest members of the

community, and are persuading them to part with thousands of pounds, in return for a security system that may not necessarily meet the needs of the customer.
The companies in question play on the fears of vulnerable people, they then offer them security equipment, which the householder doesn't fully understand how to use. Once the company has achieved the sale and obtained their fee, they then try to sell more services and additional warranties.
The sales reps may return year after year, continuing to sell one warranty after another to elderly customers who are entirely unable to use the equipment provided.
Our area of West Norfolk has been targeted in past. The following areas are ones we know of; Heacham, Hunstanton & Downham Market.
Please be very wary of dealing with companies that try to get your business through cold calling either by telephone or directly at the door. If you do allow them into you home, don't sign any contract until it has been checked thoroughly by a friend or relative, always get at least 3 quotes before any work is carried out and
