The WI met on Tuesday February 12th for the second monthly meeting of the new year.  After Meg  Brown got us off to a great start with her talk about American Quilts and Quilting, we heard Ann Morgan's talk entitled 'Adult and one child please', about her life as a one parent family, before the term came into common usage.  Without one shred of self pity about her impoverished state and a great deal of good humour she told us of the trials and tribulations of bringing up a son single handily, and ultimately with a great deal of success.
Before the talk the members discussed all future events and the way forward on matters presented for discussion by the committee.  In keeping with the democratic traditions of the country a show of hands was the deciding factor on some issues.
There was a raffle and competition as usual, followed by supper provided by two of our members.  The meeting concluded at approximately 10.00pm.
The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 12th when the guest speaker will be Susan Walker talking about Feberge Eggs, and after that there will be a group Open Meeting at Feltwell on Thursday March 21st.
