Northwold Newspaper Round
For the last four years Arthur and Rita Clarke have operated the local Newspaper round, which has been known as Clarkes News.
However time has marched on and they have decided to call it a day. They have moved from Mundford and are now living in Thetford. Arthur and Rita would like to express their sincere thanks to all their customers who they have had the privilege to have served over the years.
Arthur bought the business from Don Carter, when it was known as 'Craft News'. Don bought the business from Chris Reddick, and it was she who named it Craft News in the first place. She bought the business from Derek and Jean Phillips, who operated from the Fish and Chip shop in School Lane. Derek and Jean had bought both the Fish and Chip business and the Newspaper business from Percy and Mary Everett who did the deliveries themselves, along with Mrs Barbara Kimber. Of later years the deliveries have been made by School children who do their round before school, thereby ensuring that the delivery is fairly early, but the period we are talking about is the early - middle 1960's.
Percy and Mary bought the business from Albert Goymour who in turn

Brookville in what used to be the Post Office on the main road, and now live in Methwold. Derek comes from Norwich originally, and Chris is from Feltwell.
Derek tells us that he intends to carry on running the business on exactly the same lines as Arthur and Rita have done. Their telephone number is 728409.
