Editor's Notes
Apologies for a somewhat "rough at the edges" August edition of Village Life - Michael fled to Ireland, and I was still sat at the computer formatting Village Life at 2am before flying off to Portugal the next day!
Anyway, we produced something and at the end of this piece is a list of the corrections…
I'm sure everyone's thoughts of late have been with the people of Soham - a small community like ours that has been rocked to it's foundations by dreadful events.
This edition includes articles on both bogus callers and opportunistic burglars - not on the same scale, but it shows that we all need to be vigilant, and promptly report any

suspicious behaviour to the Police. Village Life will (as always) try to do it's bit by printing notifications from West Norfolk Homewatch and other suitable correspondence.
Don't forget the Produce Show on Saturday 7th September (see page 11 of June's Village Life for categories).

Scarecrow prizes - The joint winner with her "Leprechaun" was Hazel Sheldrick.
Northwold School - winner of the Jubilee Cup for English was Elizabeth Johnson.
"In safe Hands" - sorry Michael and Toni, pages 10 & 11 were round the wrong way!

on Saturday 20th July.
The day raised £384.80 for Church funds but the wonderful atmosphere alone would have made this village occasion worthwhile.
If you missed out and were not able to be there, there is a display of photos of the event in the church porch. We intend repeating this happy village occasion next year.

Thank you once again.
